Donovan Rose
Donovan was born in Sorrento, British Columbia in 1984.
His work is a direct response to his immediate surroundings and represents his personal exploration & experience within these parameters. As a self-taught painter, his studio practise includes looking at picture books, sipping red wine, dancing and petting his dog while aiming wet paint brushes at a wall of stretched canvas.
He currently lives in the Cowichan Valley where he and his partner, Barclay Rose, run The Ou Artist Residency and Gallery with their dog Ruby. They all live with a cat named Tubby.
