This exhibition is a love letter to the deliciously overdone. Each painting borrows a quote from a gloriously campy movie—the kind we’ve memorized, quoted at brunch, and used as emotional shorthand with our besties. From shoulder pads to side-eye, from melodrama to Mommie Dearest, it’s soaked in the excess we’ve always known as Queer art!

Camp is an aesthetic, but for some, it’s also a survival tactic. It’s queer code wrapped in glamour, a way to laugh through the pain. With every brushstroke and borrowed one-liner, these paintings celebrate our shared language of ‘too-muchness.’ Camp is commentary - in sequins. Sincere artifice. Rebellion in rhinestones.

This exhibition is for the drama queens, the cult film devotees, the Judy, Bette, and Joan disciples. So if you’ve ever shouted “I’m ready for my close-up!” at a mirror, or thrown a drink purely for effect—welcome home, darling!!
