Sara Robichaud

Sara Robichaud is a mid-career visual artist based on Vancouver Island, Canada. Primarily known as a formalist painter, her recent work explores feminine perspectives, memory and place through a site-specific installation in her home. Sara is currently transforming her painting methodology as she works on a series of large-scale immersive paintings centered around practices of care and empathy.

Recent Exhibitions include Tough (2022) at Herringer Kiss Gallery, The Line Between (2021) at Gallery Jones, Small Gatherings (2020) at Nanaimo Art Gallery and Spectral (2019, solo) at Herringer-Kiss Gallery. Sara is represented at Gallery Merrick in Victoria, BC, Gallery Jones in Vancouver, BC and Herringer Kiss Gallery in Calgary, AB.

Robichaud holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Victoria (Victoria, BC, 2009) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Honours from Queen’s University (Kingston ON, 1995). 

Her work is part of the following public collections, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Ottawa, ON), Nanamio Art Gallery (Nanaimo, BC) and the Kennedy Arts Centre (North Bay, ON). Other notable collections include the Fairmont Baku Flame Towers (Baku Azerbaijan) and the private collection of Princess Noura of Saudi Arabia.
