Trisha Oldfield has lived in the Cowichan Valley with her husband and daughter for almost 20 years. Her home studio is in Chemainus, BC. Trisha’s past works include a variety of commissions for private, corporate and government clients and she has had numerous solo art exhibits on Vancouver Island and Mexico. Trisha is passionate about making her art more accessible to those who like it and recently launched www.trishaoldfield.com. The website not only showcases her original works but also features an online boutique offering a line of style-conscious, ethically-sourced wearable art that draws from her original pieces as inspiration. Items include kimonos, shirts and leggings as well as home décor items such as pillow covers and prints.

"I love mixed media collage because I can combine my paintbrush skills with my obsession with scissors. I can swoon over fabulous papers and patterns and immerse myself in finding vintage magazines, books and images. I love it because of its spontaneous and forgiving nature. It not only opens a world of impossible associations but can harmoniously link thoughts, styles and even artistic technique used throughout history. It breathes new life into old discarded forgotten art that should be appreciated and admired.

As a mixed media artist, I enjoy using a variety of mediums and techniques in my work... collage, acrylic painting on canvas, watercolour & ink, linocut prints, photography and digital & hand drawn illustrations. My compositions, usually incorporating wildlife or nature, are colourful and lively, always possessing a narrative quality."
